Websites for moving companies: explain the service, make the enquiry easy

Someone planning a move compares several companies in a short window and often decides in the evening or at the weekend. A removalist's website therefore has two jobs: make the service and the pricing logic understandable, and take an enquiry that works even when nobody can pick up the phone.

WebAktive has built two websites for moving companies, SwiftMove and Safe'N Easy Movers, both in Brisbane. The lessons carry to any market; local specifics are worked out per project.

SwiftMove: the quote runs from two addresses and gives a first orientation without replacing a binding quote.

What people want to know before they enquire

The questions repeat: roughly what does a move cost? What gets charged for? How does the day run? What about the piano, the aquarium, the interstate move? A website that answers them saves the phone calls that were only ever about orientation, and reaches people who are not ready to book yet.

For SwiftMove that took the form of an advice library, categorised by the kind of move and feeding a quote request. Safe'N Easy Movers describes the process from first enquiry to settling in, in five steps and in the words a customer would use.

Pricing that is clear without being binding

Removalists compete on price. A website can make the pricing logic transparent without pre-empting a quote: hourly rate and travel, a written estimate from photos, or a fixed price after a visit. A calculator like SwiftMove's gives an orientation; the actual scope and the quote are settled separately.

What the site says has to match what you actually charge. We do not carry pricing models over from other projects; we present your terms.

An enquiry route that works around the clock

At Safe'N Easy Movers, every quote request used to arrive by phone, and enquiries after hours went cold before anyone could call back. The Moving Plan request captures the job at any hour and asks what is being moved rather than returning a number that has to be walked back later.

Which fields an enquiry needs depends on your service. Too many required fields put people off; too few produce follow-up calls. We agree the scope together and test the route on a phone, where most enquiries start.

The Safe'N Easy Movers homepage leads with the Moving Plan request and the review count.
Safe'N Easy Movers: the Moving Plan request and the review count sit at the top of the page.

Show trust before someone lets strangers into their home

A moving crew is let into the customer's home. Reviews, the owner named and pictured, and plain statements on insurance and process belong near the top, not on a sub-page. We use only reviews and claims that actually exist and may be published.

Local visibility: website, Google Business Profile and ads

Moves are searched locally. Alongside the website, a maintained Google Business Profile, regional service pages with real substance, and Google Ads where they fit complete the picture. For Safe'N Easy Movers the work covered SEO, Google Ads and the Google Maps presence, and the channels were assessed separately because they do different jobs at different costs.

We do not claim positions or enquiry numbers for these projects. What we can show is the structure. More: local SEO · Google Ads.

FAQ

Do we need a price calculator?

Not necessarily. A calculator helps when your pricing logic translates into a few inputs. Otherwise a clearly explained price structure with a simple enquiry is the better solution.

Can we maintain the site ourselves after launch?

If content management is part of the agreed project, we set up the intended editing options, for instance for guides, reviews or service areas.

Do you also handle Google Ads and the Business Profile?

That can be part of separately agreed ongoing support. Google Ads are itemised with the ad budget and the management share shown separately; the terms are on the pricing page.

What does a removalist website cost?

The base website with five core pages in one language costs €2,400 one-off, including 19% VAT. A calculator, an advice library or a second language change the scope and are described individually in the quote.

How should your customers find you and get in touch?

Describe your service area, your services and how enquiries reach you today. From that we develop the structure, the enquiry route and the marketing measures that fit. Discuss a removalist website
