A website relaunch for alkon, with clear routes to an enquiry

alkon manufactures aluminium components for commercial customers. Its previous website was considerably older than what the company had become. The job was to show the industrial work in a way people can follow, and to make the route to an enquiry — and to a job application — simpler.

The homepage leads with what the company makes and the numbers that qualify it as a supplier.

The machinery page: ten production machines in total, including two self-developed special machines, presented as capacity rather than a parts list.

Understanding the requirements inside the company

The work began with a meeting in person, covering requirements, design and the functionality that would be needed later. We brought four different design directions to that conversation. The client picked individual elements from them, and the final design came out of working through it together.

A walk through the plant went with the meeting. It produced our own photographs, showing the actual work and the industrial setting — a different basis from interchangeable stock images that would suit any other manufacturer just as well.

A site for information and for concrete enquiries

The relaunch combines a German-English structure with navigation people can follow. Prospects can send an enquiry and attach drawing files. Applications have a route of their own, so customer enquiries and job applications do not have to travel through the same general message.

alkon can maintain news and job listings itself through a content management area. The project therefore does not end at a design that needs a developer for every text change. The editing capabilities were matched to the internal tasks they were meant to serve.

A buyer comparing machining partners is checking a short list of things: whether the quality system is certified, whether the capacity covers their series, and whether the tolerances hold. Those are among the first things the homepage answers. German and English run as parallel trees with matching pages, and the language switch keeps you on the page you were reading.

SEO taken into account before launch

Preparing the SEO groundwork started at least two months before the new site went live: the page structure, the content and the technical requirements of the relaunch. The previous website was checked with SEO Site Checkup in June 2026; the later figures describe the new site in September 2026.

The new site was published on 13 September 2026. The preparatory work is therefore a separate thing from the period since launch, and a comparison of the tool scores does not describe only changes made after that date.

What changed for visitors and for the team

The site shows the plant with its own photography and an agreed design. The route to the enquiry form with a drawing attached is easy to find. News and job listings can be maintained internally. Feedback on the project and the design was very positive: alkon rated the work five out of five in a direct email reply.

That rating is direct customer feedback by email. It is not a Google review and not an entry on an independent review platform.

Tool scores and actual search visibility are different things

According to the SEO Site Checkup figures reported to WebAktive, the old website stood at roughly 53 out of 100 for SEO and 20 out of 100 for AI Visibility in June 2026. For the new site, 91 SEO points and 81 AI Visibility points were reported in September 2026.

SEO scoreAbout 53 of 10091 of 100
AI Visibility scoreAbout 20 of 10081 of 100

These values come from an external tool and were reported by the project team. They are not visitor numbers and not a measurement of how often an AI recommends the company. Today's online report may already show something different; the table describes the two points of comparison named above. Open the SEO Site Checkup report for alkon

For the period before Search Console was connected there is no comparable baseline. So no percentage traffic increase is inferred from organic clicks appearing later against a presumed zero.

A separate check on 17 September 2026 showed alkon in two of five fully displayed Google AI Overviews for selected supplier searches. The questions and the limits of that sample are described on our GEO page. It is a dated observation, not evidence of the same visibility across all searches. What this project shows other industrial companies

A relaunch should explain the actual operation and make the next step easier for a prospect. In the alkon project, what mattered was the conversation in person, our own photography, two language versions, drawing uploads and the content upkeep afterwards. Which of those another company needs is something we work out from its customers and its processes. Web design for industrial companies
