Links that survive the next algorithm update

Links still matter, and most link building still consists of paying for placements on sites that exist to sell placements. That works until it does not, and the penalty lands on the client rather than the agency.

How we approach it

  • audit the existing profile, including what should be disavowed
  • analyse which sites link to comparable competitors and why
  • identify assets worth linking to that you could realistically create
  • outreach to publications with a genuine reason to care
  • monitor what is gained and lost over time

A reason to link

Nobody links to a service page. They link to something useful: original data from your own operations, a tool that solves a small annoying problem, a genuinely thorough reference, a case study with real numbers.

The honest constraint is that this requires something to exist. Where it does not, the work starts with building the asset, not sending emails.

What we do not do

Private blog networks, paid link packages, mass guest posting on sites nobody reads, and reciprocal link schemes. All are detectable, all carry risk that materialises later, and the client carries it.

We also will not guarantee a specific number of editorial links. Independent publications decide independently — that is what makes their links worth having.

Digital PR and mentions

Unlinked brand mentions still contribute to how a brand is understood, and increasingly to whether AI answer systems reference you. Some of the most useful outreach produces a mention rather than a link, and that is not a failure.

Auditing an inherited profile

If previous work bought links, we assess whether to disavow. Disavowing is not automatic — the tool is easy to misuse and removing legitimate links hurts. We review before recommending.

Measurement

We report links gained and lost, the quality of referring domains, and whether the pages targeted actually moved. A count of new links without ranking movement means the targeting was wrong.

FAQ

How many links do we need?

There is no number. Relevance and credibility matter more than volume, and a competitor analysis gives a realistic frame.

How long does it take?

Outreach cycles run in months. Anyone promising fifty links next month is buying them.

Is guest posting dead?

Mass low-quality guest posting is. A genuine contribution to a publication your customers read is not.
